Card Input is a game mechanic that appears in all three of the Spectrobes games. It used to acquire rare Spectrobes, Custom Parts, Minerals, and weapons. All cards can only be used once per save file.
Spectrobes and Spectrobes: Beyond the Portals[]
in the handheld games, Card Input data is input onto the touch screen while using the Card Input machine in the Patrol Cruiser. The input screen consists of a 4-tall, 5-wide invisible grid contained within the blue bracket pattern of the background and an additional 4 points at each corner of the screen. 4 physical cards containing the relevant data were included with each game, giving the system its name. The cards are sized to fit on top of a DS Lite touchscreen and had 7 small holes at certain locations, numbered to act as a guide for inputting card data by using the stylus on the touchscreen. While it is possible to gain access to the cards’ contents without the physical card, it is somewhat difficult due to the invisible keypad. A list of all cards and their combinations is included below. A printable grid template link is is included at the bottom of this article.
In Spectrobes, you unlock Card Input from a cube, while in Spectrobes: Beyond the Portals, you unlock it after you agree to help Digg repair Aldous's escape pod. Cards from the first Spectrobes game can be input into Spectrobes: Beyond the Portals after obtaining the Dynalium near the end of the story, but cards from Spectrobes: Beyond the Portals can never be utilized with the original game. Card Input is the only way to acquire Secret Spectrobes such as Kibatekka, Isadora, Vilakroma, and Bakuraiya in Beyond the Portals; and Windora and Vilakroma in Spectrobes.
Spectrobes: Origins[]
In Spectrobes: Origins, Card Input utilizes a different entry system due to the lack of a touchscreen on the Wii. For cards rewarding Spectrobes, the player first enters the code on the back of the card in the Constellation Card menu, then links the stars to form the pattern displayed. For equipment and items, a code is first entered, then a pattern is created on a 4 by 4 circuit board.
Card Input codes can be entered from the card input machine, installed in the Patrol Cruiser via the Blueprint Cube from Neal after obtaining the Shard on Menahat. Cards reward exclusive content, such as Custom Color Spectrobes, Secret Spectrobes, and exclusive Weapons and Shields.
Below is a star map obtained after entering in all possible codes for the constellation card menu.
Card List[]
Spectrobes[]
The Geo input cards in Spectrobes can only be used after the player finishes the game for the first time. This is indicated in the table below.
All Spectrobes input cards can be used in Beyond the Portals, once Rallen obtains the Dynalium from Nox.

Spectrobes: Origins[]
The card input machine will be available after the player completes the fourth planet (Menahat) by defeating Zabatar.
*Note: Some card art are missing, so for the sake of simplicity, pictures of some the cards and constellations/circuits will be added as placeholders. These will be replaced with the actual card art as they are found. An easy walkthrough for all the cards and their appearances can be found In Wishing Tikal's Card input system videos.

Availability[]
Input cards were printed in English and Japanese, with the English-language cards serving all PAL regions in addition to North America. Cards are typically packaged in new copies of the game in packs of 4, sleeved in clear plastic. This is true of all three titles. Each sleeve has a fixed set of basic cards. Rarer cards are distributed as exclusive inserts in collector's editions, strategy guides, and other tie-in material. Details about where and whether cards are printed and how they were distributed originally is currently poorly understood.
