A Mineral is a special type of material that contains Minergy. They can be fed to Spectrobes in the Incubator to increase their stats and ready them for evolution. Minerals are found by Child Spectrobes when commanded to search, and are either excavated with tools or simply obtained. In Spectrobes and Spectrobes: Beyond the Portals, excavation sites containing buried Minerals emit a blue beam when found by a Child Spectrobe.
Minerals in Spectrobes[]
Minerals are found in the surface of planets across the system. In this game shape determines what stat the mineral affects; pyramid-shaped minerals boost a Spectrobe's attack, rectangle-shaped minerals boost defense, and crescent moon-shaped minerals boost health. The color of the mineral indicates the degree of effect upon a stat the mineral has, with yellow, green, pink, and purple minerals giving Minergy boosts of 8, 16, 24, and 32 respectively. Minerals can also appear in combined forms with positive effects to stat gain (Such as Agate, which increases both attack and defense when fed); or combined with blackened versions of minerals, giving negative effects to stat gain (Such as Graphite, which increases attack, but decreases defense).

Minerals in Spectrobes: Beyond the Portals[]
In order to dig up minerals in Beyond the Portals, you must first clear all battles in the area; since your Child Spectrobe hides from danger in your Prizmod, in the presence of Krawl in their black vortexes. Similar to Spectrobes, you must retrieve discovered Minerals by excavating them. However, in Beyond the Portals the gameplay has been heightened with the addition of more tools to use, and the implementation of different environments which affect excavation (these being Lava, Ice, Sand, Water and Sludge.)
In this game, Minerals fill a fixed percentage of the experience required to level up. This is regardless of the increasing amount of Experience Points needed to do so, making Minerals more efficient at leveling up a Spectrobe than battling. The shape of the Mineral determines the amount of the experience bar filled, with triangular-prism (C), rectangular-prism (B), crescent (A), and star-shaped (A+) Minerals filling 10, 20, 40, and 60 percent of the level bar respectively. Additionally, Minerals have Properties like Spectrobes; blue for Flash, green for Aurora, and red for Corona. Corona, Aurora, and Flash also have uniquely shaped “S” rank Minerals. Feeding a Spectrobe a Mineral of a different Property will halve the amount of the level bar filled. Feeding a Spectrobe a matching-Property Mineral in an Incubator room with the same matching Property will double the Mineral’s effects. For example, feeding a Corona C Mineral to a Corona Spectrobe in a room with Corona terrain will increase the amount of level bar filled from 10% to 20%
Typically, Dark Spectrobes can only gain standard effects from Dark Minerals due to lacking a matching Property terrain. However, the Special Terrain obtained through Card Input acts as a matching terrain type for all Properties, including Dark.

Minerals in Spectrobes: Origins[]
In Origins, the mineral retrieval system is slightly different to its predecessors. You must first direct your child Spectrobe to an area where there are blue crystal-like sparkles coming from the ground. Then the Spectrobe searches and uncovers the mineral. After it's uncovered, you or your Spectrobe simply have to touch it in order to collect it. However, there is a special blackened mineral, which when discovered, your child Spectrobe will almost always run to collect it. Touching a black mineral will result in a battle (and 10 EXP for your child Spectrobe); usually only one or two waves of Krawl appear.
